Target: Transgender bathroom use OKNEW YORK — Target is making a stand on the debate around what type of bathrooms transgender people can use.In a statement posted on its company website Tuesday, the discounter, based in Minneapolis, said transgender employees and customers can use the restroom or fitting room facility that “corresponds with their gender identity.”“Inclusivity is a core belief at Target,” said the retailer in a statement. “It’s something we celebrate.”Target says it regularly assesses issues and considers many factors that would impact business, customers and workers.
Coke reports 1Q earnings of $1.48BATLANTA — Coca-Cola today reported first-quarter earnings of $1.48 billion. On a per-share basis, the Atlanta-based company said it had net income of 34 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 45 cents per share.The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. Coke shares have climbed 8.5 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has risen roughly 3 percent.
