Pa. board disciplines nurses

HARRISBURG — Two Butler County residents were disciplined in April by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing.

Secretary of State Pedro A. Cortés announced that Tammy Crytzer McLaughlin of Butler received three years probation, subject to the board’s terms and conditions, for drug and alcohol addiction. The board stayed a three-year suspension of McLaughlin’s nursing license.

Cortés announced Cathy Yoma Dewald of Fenelton received a year of probation, subject to the board’s terms and conditions including 20 hours of remedial education on the topics of nursing law and ethics and documentation because she violated the law by failing to document and maintain accurate records.

They were among the 182 licensed and commissioned professionals and organizations that the Pennsylvania Department of State filed disciplinary actions against in April.
