Pennsylvania House votes to expand pension forfeiture lawHARRISBURG — Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering a proposal to expand the state law that requires forfeiture of pensions for school and government employees convicted of job-related crimes.The House voted 188 to 2 Wednesday to require pensions be seized upon conviction rather than waiting until defendants are sentenced.The proposal also imposes pension forfeiture on those with any felony convictions related to their jobs.To cover federal offenses, it also applies to convictions that result in a sentence of at least five years.Current law outlines the crimes that trigger forfeiture, and not all felonies are included.
