Stewart D. Kriebel
Stewart D. Kriebel, 63, of La Verne, Calif., formerly of Parker, passed away Friday.
Born in Piney Township, Clarion County, July 7, 1948, he was the son of Floyd “Hod” L. and Olive Stewart Kriebel.
He was married to the late Michelle Buchanan.
Stewart graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He immediately found a job and moved to California and lived there ever since.
Stewart worked as a structural engineer for the County of Los Angeles in the sanitation department. He was great friends with his co-workers and they were more like his extended family at “The District,” as they commonly referred to their workplace.
He was an outdoor enthusiast and an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling great distances to golf in places such as Phoenix, Las Vegas and New Mexico. Stewart was a bicycle enthusiast and would participate in marathons extending more than 100 miles. He also enjoyed the company of his beloved cats, Comma and Spike.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009.
Surviving are his parents, one sister, Sherry Kellogg of Clarion; one brother, Ricky and his wife, Elaine Kriebel of New Castle; and his mother-in-law, Michelle Buchanan.
