Anna D. Hoover

Anna D. Hoover of Doylestown, Bucks County, died Sunday at the Golden Living Center. She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles M. Hoover.

Born on Christmas Day in 1918 in Worthington, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Anna Braun Dimitt.

Anna grew up in Western Pennsylvania and went to Slippery Rock University, where she received her teaching certificate. She then went on to teach fifth grade in the Chartiers Valley School District for more than two decades.

Then after many years of being at home and raising her children, Anna returned to college, this time to the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated in the early 1960s with her bachelor's degree.

She was active in the Dormont Presbyterian Church before moving to Bucks County in 2007.

She had a passion for genealogy research and spent countless hours quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Nichols and her husband, Daniel, of Charles Town, W.Va.; and her son, Herbert Hoover and his wife, Linda, of Doylestown. She also is survived by her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

<B>HOOVER</B> — Relatives and friends of Anna D. Hoover, who died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, are invited to attend her graveside service at noon Thursday at the Worthington United Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington.In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Westmoreland County Historical Society, 362 Sand Hill Road, Suite 1, Greensburg, PA 15601.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>Joseph A.
