Ralph G. Boltz
Ralph G. Boltz, 87, of Kittanning Pike, Chicora, died unexpectedly Monday morning shortly after his arrival in the emergency room at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.
Mr. Boltz was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County. He was the son of Henry A. and Mary Elizabeth Snyder Boltz.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Mae Colbert Boltz, who he married in Kittanning on June 9, 1951.
Mr. Boltz was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was in the 80th Infantry and served nine months on the front lines and participated in the liberation of France at Omaha Beach.
Ralph was employed for more than 30 years at Witco Chemical Co. in Petrolia and retired in 1985.
Mr. Boltz was a member of the St. Paul's Community Church in Chicora.
He enjoyed horse racing, gardening, hunting and woodworking. Mr. Boltz was a skilled carpenter and built the home where he and his wife lived for more than 50 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly S. Williams and her husband, Henry, of Chicora; a son, Curtis Boltz of Chicora; three grandchildren, Cole Williams of Herman and Trevor Williams and Courtney Williams, both of Chicora; a brother, Homer Boltz of East Brady; a sister, Shirley Starr of Euclid, Ohio, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Foster, John and Meade Boltz; and four sisters, Margaret Welsh, Madeline Bonnett, Helen Olcus and Della Shakley.

Boltz, who died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, will be received at the <B>Hile Funeral Home </B>of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Randall J. Forester, pastor of St. Paul's Community Church in Chicora, officiating.
