Aretz Jr.

William J. Aretz Jr., 75, of Buffalo Township died Sunday at his home.

Mr. Aretz was born March 27, 1935, in Harrison Township to the late William J. and Anita Weiser Aretz Sr.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was a maintenance mechanic at B&W of Apollo, retiring in 1983 after 21 years. After retirement, he worked at Cannon Boiler of New Kensington for nine years.

He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington, the Masonic Lodge of Leechburg and the American Legion of New Kensington.He enjoyed spending time playing cards with family, camping, fishing and playing bingo.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Roberta Ann Sinclair Aretz; his children, Roberta Ann Eckman of Portersville and Elizabeth W. Aretz of Lower Burrell; and his granddaughter and grandson, Elizabeth A. and Michael R. Plack.He was preceded in death by his parents.

<B>ARETZ</B> — The family of William J. Aretz Jr., who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, asks everyone to join them at a memorial service at United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Colin Yuckman officiating. Burial at Plum Creek Cemetery will be private.
