PITTSBURGH — Peoples Natural Gas has donated water and money for the residents in West Virginia affected by recent flooding.

Company employees joined with the West Virginia Army National Guard in Forest Hills on Tuesday to fill a truck with 2,000 cases of bottled water, gloves, tarps, shovels and other supplies.

Peoples, which serves much of Butler County, also made a $10,000 donation to the Red Cross for disaster assistance.

“Peoples serves approximately 13,000 customers in West Virginia,” said Rita Urbaniak, director of customer relations for Peoples. “Even though the flooding occurred to the south of our operations territory and our customers were not directly affected, we wanted to reach out to those in the path of the flooding to provide support
