Albert

Mary Eleanor Albert, 93, of the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., passed away Saturday.

Born Aug. 16, 1917, she was the daughter of Leonard R. and Mary Eva (Yeck) Martin.

Mrs. Albert was raised in Baden. She graduated from Rochester High School and went on to work at Penney's in Ambridge.

She married Robert Clyde Albert on Aug. 2, 1939, and together they owned and operated Albert's Grocery & Hardware Store from 1952 until 1966. The couple moved to Bradenton, Fla., in 1970, where Mrs. Albert made her home until returning to the Passavant Retirement Community in 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Jean Voigt and her husband, Norman, of McCandless Township and Martha Post and her husband, David, of South Weymouth, Mass.; two grandchildren, Susan Voigt and Steven Voigt and his wife, Amy; and two great-grandchildren, William and Mary Elizabeth Voigt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyde Albert, who died Dec. 3, 1979, and a brother, Alvin Martin.
