Wayne C. Douglass

Wayne C. “Pappy” Douglass, 85, of Six Points, near Eau Claire, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville, Thursday.

He was born in Cherry Valley on Oct. 10, 1925, the son of the late George A. and Etta Aletha Scott Douglass.

Wayne was a heavy equipment operator and was employed with the Western Hickory Coal Co.

An avid outdoorsmen, he enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Douglass; his daughter, Betty (Charles) Shaffer of Six Points; three sons, William L. (Earline) Douglass of Bicknell, Ind., David E. (Bonnie) of Emlenton and Duene R. (Donna) of Six Points; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Flossie Mae Bennett Douglass, who passed away on June 22, 1986; one son, George Douglass; one infant daughter, Patty Douglass; and three brothers, Floyd, Arnold and Roy Douglass.

<B>DOUGLASS</B> — Friends of Wayne C. “Pappy” Douglass, who died Thursday, April 14, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the <B>H.
