Indiana woman accused of throwing knives pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

An Indiana woman accused of throwing a knife at another woman pleaded guilty to summary disorderly conduct at a Monday, July 13, preliminary hearing.

Mya Jean Hubbard, 23, of Sellersburg, Ind., was sentenced to pay a fine by District Judge William Fullerton after pleading guilty to the March 23 charge. Her initial charge of felony aggravated assault was withdrawn.

Police said they were dispatched March 21 to a Hazel Avenue residence for reports of a fight. A woman there told police Hubbard had thrown knives at her, which caused a puncture wound in the right side of her chest; and threw an ashtray that struck her in the nose.

Police said Hubbard also scratched and bit the woman, who required treatment at Butler Memorial Hospital.
