3:44 a.m. Wednesday — Anthony N. Salvia, 32, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, 22-year-old Rachel Raducz, during a domestic dispute at his apartment in the 800 block of West New Castle Street.Officers were called when Raducz reported the defendant put his hands around her neck, a police report said.Raducz, who police described as intoxicated, said Salvia was upset after she came home late following a couple of drinks and hit her.But Salvia told police he was sleeping when his girlfriend came home and that she started hitting him. Salvia said he pushed her away in self-defense.Salvia was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.

4:21 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Ashley Cousins, 23, of Renfrew and Jacob Popojas, 17, of Seven Fields collided at Eberhart Road and Route 68. Police said Cousins was cited for running a red light.

Tuesday — Cory J. McFadden, 35, of Grove City was arrested on bench warrants out of Butler and Venango counties.Police said he was wanted out of Butler for failure to appear at court hearings in separate trespass and theft cases. He was wanted out of Venango County for failure to pay in connection with a theft by deception case.

2:05 p.m. Tuesday — Jason Brendlinger, 19, of Freeport was hurt when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed on Route 28 at the exit 14 ramp in Tarentum, Allegheny County. The truck went off the road, traveling into a dirt pull off area and rolled onto its roof.Brendlinger was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with undisclosed injuries.Tuesday — An unknown identity thief made four fraudulent online transactions using a 38-year-old Shelocta woman's debit card information. The theft totaled nearly $350.

Monday — An unknown burglar stole about $80 after breaking into a 32-year-old man's apartment on East Main Street Extension in Pine Township, Mercer County. The break-in happened between 8:20 a.m. and 7 p.m.2:25 a.m. Saturday — Devin M. Lindsey, 29, of Stoneboro was injured when the car he was driving crashed in Worth Township, Mercer County. Lindsey's car struck a guardrail before rolling over on Jackson Center-Polk Road just west of Sandy Lake-Grove City Road.Lindsey, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries. Police said he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

3:36 p.m. Wednesday — One person was hurt in a four-vehicle wreck in Perry Township.Robert A. Miller, 21, of Grove City started the chain-reaction crash when his car struck the back of another car on Route 488, just east of North Tower Road.The collision forced the other car, driven by Kathleen M. Leppla, 22, of New Brighton, Beaver County, into the back of a third car driven by Trent J. Viccari, 18, of Ellwood City. The teen's car, in turn, was pushed into the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by John H. Bollinger, 72, of Ellwood City.Viccari, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said Miller was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
