Richard “Rick” Lee Roe, 63, died suddenly Aug. 13 at his home in Roswell, Ga.

He was born March 7, 1948, to Chester I. and Leila J. Roe, lifelong residents of Meridian, now deceased.

Rick graduated from Butler High School in 1966 and was a guard on the 1966 Golden Tornado championship football team. He graduated from Marshall University in 1970, where he played baseball and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, having served the fraternity as its president for two years.

Rick went on to a successful career in business relying on his unique infectious, warm, witty and engaging personality.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn C. Roe; a daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay Roe and Lee Christiansen, and a grandson, Nash, all of Roswell; a brother, Howard Roe of Wexford; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Judy Campbell of Renick, W.Va.; a niece, Alison Roe; and nephews, Marshall Roe, Michael Campbell and Morgan Campbell.
