County adds 6 COVID cases
Butler County saw six new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, according to a report from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The state added 2,226 cases and 20 deaths during that time.
The commonwealth's figures, updated at noon Sunday, bring the state's total cases to 129,048 with 7,578 deaths since March.
Five of the new cases in Butler County were confirmed, while one was pending.
The county now has 746 cases and 17 deaths since the pandemic began. Of those cases, 686 are confirmed, and 60 are pending. There have been 16,900 negative tests.
Venango County had its first death from COVID-19 over the weekend. There are now just four counties in the state that have not recorded a death from the pandemic: Cameron, Forest, Potter and Sullivan.
Mercer and Lawrence counties each recorded a COVID-19 death. Lawrence now has 17 deaths and Mercer 13.
Allegheny County added 449 cases and six deaths. That county now has 9,598 confirmed cases, 305 pending cases and 293 deaths since March.
Nationwide, the number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 5.6 million with 45,265 new cases added Sunday, according to the CDC.
The number of deaths in the United States rose to 175,651 with 1,006 added Sunday.
