Dennis J. Dietrich, Ph.D.
Dennis J. Dietrich, Ph.D., 62, of Hamburg, Berks County, died Monday in the Lehigh Valley Medical Center.
His beloved wife, Cynthia L. (McCar-thy) Dietrich died Oct. 17, 2008.
Dr. Dietrich was born in Grove City and was the son of the late Frank Dietrich and Mildred Heginbotham.
Dennis was a 1966 graduate of East Brady High School. He also was a graduate of Edinboro State College, now Edinboro University, where he received his bachelors in education in 1970 and his masters in eduction in 1971. Dr. Dietrich received his doctorate in education in 1978 from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Dietrich was a professor of education, Department of Special Education, at Kutztown University for 33 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a member of the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg, and a member of the Hamburg Moose Lodge 523.
Dennis is survived by two sons, Steven D., husband of Vicki Dietrich, of Hamburg and Dr. Joseph J., husband of Carla Dietrich, of Pittsburgh.
