Robert P. Scott
Robert P. “Bob” Scott, 63, of Butler passed away Friday at UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh.
Born Dec. 18, 1947, in Washington, Pa., he was the only son of James A. and Blanche (Speicher) Scott, who are deceased.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Burgettstown High School, and continued his education at Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1969 with a bachelor of science.
Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the Medical Corps in the operating rooms of Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu. He and his wife, Mary, returned to Pennsylvania after his army service.
Last June, Bob retired from the state Department of Environmental Protection, where he was a radiation health physicist.
Throughout his life, Bob was an ardent agriculturalist dedicated to farming. He enjoyed the beef operation that kept him involved with the farming community.
Bob's passions included being a private pilot, an avid reader and a 4-H leader. He was an elder of Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church, Saxonburg.
Bob was dedicated to his family and friends. Without question, his greatest love was for his family as demonstrated by the devotion and love he had for his wife and son.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Brew) Scott, who he married Sept. 13, 1971; his son, Lee Robert Scott of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Patricia (Paul) Pratt of Burgettstown and Mary (Don) Benson of Kansas City, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church, 390 Frazier Road, Saxonburg, with the Revs. Mary Malloy and Jim Steiner officiating.
