George Orenchak, 86, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away Dec. 2 at the Sun City Center Hospice House with his loving family at his side.

Born in Hartford, Conn., June 12, 1925, he was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He retired in 1986 after 41 years of federal service with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, now VA Butler Healthcare, in Butler, where he was a recreation therapist.

George moved to Sun City Center in August 1996.

He was an usher and a greeter at the St. Anne Catholic Church in Ruskin, Fla.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Marie; and his five children, Marie Antoinette “Toni” Demme (Tom) of Lacey, Wash., Dr. Theresa Suzanne Kent (John) of San Antonio, Texas, Georgeann Catherine Rossman (Lee) of Seffner, Fla., James Michael Orenchak (Claudia) of Riesweiler, Germany, and George Gerard Orenchak (Karen) of Mandeville, La.

He also is survived by 10 grandchildren, Philip Demme, Elizabeth Demme, Mark Davis, Timothy Kent, Laura Davis, Laurel Orenchak, Kathleen Kent, Meghan Orenchak, Caitlin Orenchak and Michael Kent; and five great-grandchildren, Riley, Ryan, Adeline, Payton and Sophia.

<B>ORENCHAK</B> — A memorial Mass for George Orenchak, who died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, will be celebrated at the St. Anne Catholic Church, Ruskin, Fla., at 11 a.m. Dec. 29. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the stained glass window fund at the St. Anne Catholic Church, 106 11th Ave. N.E., Ruskin, FL 33570.
