Scadden

Rosalie Y. Scadden, 72, of Templeton died Friday at the Kittanning Care Center.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1937, in Kittanning, to Benjamin and Ruth Smart Reitler.

Mrs. Scadden worked for the Leader Times as a newspaper carrier for 30 years, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially sitting by the pool and grilling, watching her grandchildren, and spending time with her family and dog.

She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Scadden; a son, Dale Robert Scadden and his wife, Melissa, of Ford Cliff; two brothers, Dale Reitler and Gary Reitler and his wife, Idella, all of Saxonburg; three sisters, Peggy Gilliland of Butler, Melissa Reitler of Saxonburg, and Pam Shaffer and her husband, Rick, of Slate Lick; and four grandchildren, Zane Scadden, Tyler Fair, Sean Scadden and Emma Scadden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Frank "Ziggy" Reitler; a sister, Lexi Bauer, and an infant grandchild, Jessica Scadden.

<B>SCADDEN </B>— Funeral services for Rosalie Y. Scadden, who died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, were private at her request. Interment followed at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Armstrong County.
