Esther Gibson
It is with profound sadness, yet with the hope found in Jesus Christ, that we announce the passing of Esther Ann (Grubbs) Gibson, of Valencia, who passed away Sunday afternoon, June 28, 2026, at Passavant Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her life, she held many different jobs, each reflecting her willingness to serve others. She worked as a lunch lady, crafted brushes, assembled kaleidoscopes, worked in a toy factory, helped operate a small business alongside her husband and later cleaned apartments at St. Barnabas. Whatever the task, Esther was known for her strong work ethic, humble spirit and caring heart.
Esther’s unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guided every aspect of her life. A lifelong member of LifePointe Alliance Church in Mars, she faithfully served her church for many years, caring for 2- and 3-year-old children and watching little ones during Bible studies so mothers could grow in their faith. In her free time, she enjoyed making crafts, traveling with her husband, walking the beaches to gather shells and spending weekends at Canadohta Lake.
Above all, Esther cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Gibson; and her brother, William Grubbs.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Gibson; her son, Randy Gibson; her daughter, Shelly (Brian) Cubarney; her grandchildren, Alexandra Gibson, Paige Gibson, Boyce (Alyse) Cubarney, Emma (Dominick) Peffer and Liam Cubarney; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Romulus and Ophelia. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Staniski, of Saxonburg; and her brother, Henry T. Grubbs Jr. (Kathleen), of Shaler Township.
Esther leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and quiet service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though we grieve her passing, we rejoice in the promise that she is in heaven, forever in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Until we meet again, we hold fast to the hope of that glorious reunion.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
