Financial course set for farmers

SLIPPERY ROCK — Penn State Extension is offering Farm$en$e, a farm financial management course, for agricultural producers interested in better understanding financial statements.

The four-session class will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays in November, focusing on understanding financial records such as cash flow statements, balance sheets and income statements.

The course will be at Slippery Rock University’s Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator, 165 Elm St., Slippery Rock.

The course will cover all agricultural businesses, including: livestock; dairy; horticulture — orchards, greenhouses, and vegetable operations; and farms producing multiple items.

The cost is $225 per farm and is limited to two individuals per farm. The cost for each additional person is $90. This includes class materials and lunch for each session.
