Lola Nebel
Our beloved mother/nana, Lola Elizabeth Nebel, 85, of Butler, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 26, 2026, with her loving children by her side.
Born Aug. 9, 1940, in Natchez, Miss., she was a daughter of the late Wesley Magee and Bertie Delaney Magee.
Lola worked in retail sales at Troutman’s Department Store before transitioning into banking. She finished her career as a sales consultant at Kerr's Furniture Showroom prior to her retirement.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
Her gentle, passionate spirit was evident to all who knew her. She always made people laugh by saying what was on her mind. She never knew what LOL stood for, so we took her word that it meant Lots of Love. She enjoyed reading books and playing weekly Bingo with her dear friends at Sunbury Fields and sitting on her porch chatting with them. Her favorite pastime was playing games on her phone and doing word search puzzle books.
Lola is survived by her four children, Charles R. Nebel, of Elliottsburg, Pa., Angela M. Nebel, of Butler, Stacy L. McDonald, of Chicora, and Keith A. Nebel, of Butler; five grandchildren, Alec Nebel, Janae Lawson, and Mitchell, Shane and Sarah McDonald; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
