Day 1 of the Saxonburg Carnival kicked off by highlighting the true stars of the community: not the people of Saxonburg — but their pets.

Saxonburg residents once again lined Main Street to watch animals of all shapes and sizes march with their families.

The animals, as is typical for the Saxonburg pet parade, were not limited to cats and dogs. This year’s parade included turtles, turkeys and chickens as well.
