Raider volleyball bows in PIAA tourney
The Seneca Valley boys volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to State College in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs at St. Francis University in Loretto Tuesday night.
Seneca Valley (17-4), the WPIAL runner-up, won the first set 25-19 then lost 25-20 before winning 25-20 to take a 2-sets-to-1 lead.
State College, the District 6 champion, recovered to win the fourth set 25-22, then 15-12 to close out the match.
Zach Herrmann and Brian Pudlo both contributed 19 kills, Chad Albert had eight blocks and Cam Knight 61 assists for the Raiders.
