On Wednesday, June 10, construction crews working on behalf of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation worked at setting beams as part of the Karns Crossing Bridge replacement project.

Swank Construction Company of New Kensington is the contractor in charge of the project, which is estimated to cost $64.8 million and finish in spring 2028. The project aims to replace the bridge that carries Route 68 over the railroad tracks and Connoquenessing Creek, as well as the adjacent arch culvert.
