Man indicted for bank heist
A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted a Butler County man for bank robbery just days after he turned himself in to authorities.
Edward Gene Clutter, 43, of Evans City is accused of robbing the National City Bank in Buffalo Township on May 6, according to the indictment announced Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney's office.
Clutter around noon on May 6 allegedly demanded money from a teller at the bank on Route 356, court documents said.
The suspect apparently did not have a weapon and wore no disguise, which aided in his identification, Buffalo Township police said. He got away with $2,769. No one was hurt.
The FBI obtained an arrest warrant last week. On Friday, Clutter walked into the Cranberry Township police station and gave himself up, authorities said.
