Edwin Eckstein
Edwin Timothy Eckstein, 67, of Harmony, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion and deep love for his family and the many people whose lives he touched.
He was born May 24, 1959, in Butler. He was the son of Homer and Jean Eckstein.
Edwin graduated from Seneca Valley High School and went on to build his own business. He owned and operated Eckstein General Contracting Ltd. for 40-plus years, a business that reflected both his skill and his strong work ethic. He was a farmer when he wasn’t building. He loved all of the animals, the rewarding work that came with the farm and the bonding it allowed to create with his family.
He treasured time spent camping and just being with his wife, children and grandchildren. Those moments will be cherished by his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law, whose family meant everything to him. He was the most dependable and giving person, always putting others’ needs ahead of his own.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Porter) Eckstein; his son, Ethan Eckstein; his daughter, Heather (Paul) Meyer; his daughter, Lindsay (Nicholaus) Carranza; and his granddaughters, Lena and Raegan.
In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his sister, April Eckstein; and daughter, Sarah Eckstein.
