Amesh thinks it odd that I would reference Adolf Hitler in the abortion discussion,

since he asserts that Adolf was a "virulently anti-choice Catholic". Let's set aside the assertion of Adolf's Catholicism since that has been asked, answered, debunked and documented many times, in many credible sources. Mentioning it at

all, like it reveals something about Catholicism in particular or religion in general is lame. ....Hitler's "virulently anti-choice" stance and that of the Nazi party was (for a time) applicable only to good Germans for the purpose of giving birth to racially pure Aryan children and soldiers-to-be. Eventually, abortion was legalized in Nazi Germany. Enforced sterilizations and abortions were legalized and used to target groups of undesirable peoples within the Reich and to support their mad eugenics policies and practices. The Nazis loved their eugenics as much as did their Dear Leader.

As an aside: The World Medical Association of Geneva (1948) Physician's Oath (largely seen as a response to Nazi eugenics "docs" and "scientists" who routinely and legally performed sterilizations and abortions on Germans and also forced them upon certain peoples according to Nazi policy, reads in part

"I will maintain the utmost respect for human life from the time of conception, even under threat, I will not use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of

humanity"

Adolf Hitler was no supporter of the pro-life position, in any sense and so I think my post was not so odd at all...
