Edwin L. Strohecker, 73, of Grove City died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, on Jan. 26, 1938, the son of the late Kenneth and Alice Lottie Dietrich Strohecker.

Mr. Strohecker retired in 2000 as a truck driver, having driven last for Dandy Service Corp. of Warrendale. He was a member of Teamsters Local 538 of Kittanning.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, NASCAR, going to horse shows and smoking cigars.

He is survived by two daughters, Lynn A. Strohecker of St. Paul, Minn., and Amey Y. Murdock (Heath) of Grove City; two brothers: Kenneth R. Strohecker (Nancy) of Portersville and Stanley Strohecker (Judith) of Ellwood City; a sister, Arlene Gail Boots (Robert) Portersville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Strohecker, who died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the <B>SMITH FUNERAL HOME,</B> 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Guy, pastor of the Barkeyville Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in the Wurtemburg Cemetery, Wurtemburg, Lawrence County.
