PSU extension holding pasture walk for livestock owners
Local livestock owners and grazers can join Penn State Extension educators June 11 for a hands-on pasture walk designed to help improve pasture quality for grazing animals.
The upcoming PSU Extension workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Whippoorwill Farm, 201 Whippoorwill Road, in Butler Township.
“The program will highlight soil testing, pasture evaluation, rotational grazing, pasture management and species selection. Participants will explore a 20-acre system divided into 12 paddocks and gain practical insights applicable to a variety of grazing species,” a news release said.
