Meet the woman who made the Top 5 on ‘The Voice’
Headlining the first Butler County Music Festival for not just one, but both days of the event will be a touring artist who viewers of “The Voice” may recognize.
Karen Waldrup is scheduled to perform Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13, at the festival, with each date being a different performance from the country artist and her band.
Waldrup placed in the Top 5 of “The Voice,” Season 25, which aired on NBC in 2024, and performed songs including “I’m Alright” by Jo Dee Messina, and “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts. In the finale, Waldrup performed “You Look Good” by Lady A, alongside coaches Dan + Shay.
Aside from competing on “The Voice,” Waldrup has performed in more than 15 countries and has spent 21 weeks as No. 1 for Taste of Country’s top music videos of 2025 with her song “Blue Cowboy Boots.”
Her accolades include 12 Nashville Industry Music Awards and the 2019 Torch Award from the Keith Whitley Fingerprint on Country Music Awards. In 2023, Country Evolution recognized her as a Top 5 Artist to Watch. Her debut album, “JUSTIFIED,” premiered on four Billboard charts. The track “Sometimes He Does” was named in the Top 10 Country and Americana Songs of the Week by Rolling Stone, Waldrup’s website says.
According to Scott Docherty, one of the organizers behind the Butler County Music Festival, Waldrup will perform with her band the first night, Saturday, Sept. 12. Her Sunday performance will be some of her faith-based songs, and some will be performed alongside Butler area artist Cecilia Tomko, who is also performing her own songs at the festival.
