CRANBERRY TWP SUPERVISORS

QUESTION: Why are you running for election?

HEZLEP: I have been serving this community as a volunteer for over 11 years and have served as president of the fire company for the past five years. In this role I truly understand the importance of the role of township supervisor. Many people assume that good things in our community just happen. It takes hard work and commitment to a plan, and just three supervisors vote one way or another can drastically change the direction of how Cranberry Township operates.

WARRINGTON: No response.

QUESTION: What are the top three priorities if you win election?

HEZLEP: 1. To plan properly for the continued growth of Cranberry.

2. Traffic, roads and traffic again! We need better support out of Harrisburg to support state roads like Freedom, Route 19, Route 228 and Rochester Roads. Cranberry is not getting back the investments in our roads compared to the taxes we pay.

3. Safety: Continue the funding support of police and the volunteer fire company.

WARRINGTON: No response.

QUESTION: What part should local government play in overseeing natural gas drilling activity in your municipality, including how impact fee money should be spent?

HEZLEP: The PA Department of Environmental Protection regulates the safe exploration of natural gas drillers within the Commonwealth, and local regulations may not supersede state regulations. Cranberry Township should enforce industrial use regulations within the township so long as they do not supersede any state regulations.

I propose to put impact fees back into improving our roads and reducing traffic.

WARRINGTON: No response.
