Kathryn "Kate" Martin Edinger, 87, of Harvey Road, Foxburg, a longtime community volunteer, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, of injuries received Wednesday in an automobile accident in Marion Township.

Born June 17, 1920, in Moundsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of Andrew H. and Eve M. Lowe Martin.

She retired in 1982 after 30 years at Central Electric Cooperative in Parker.

She was a member of the DeHart-Rossman-Wenner American Legion Post 997 Auxiliary and the Richland Grange of Venango County 1413 and a member and past matron of the Parker City Chapter 60, Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Edinger was a volunteer at the St. Petersburg Senior Center and was a member of the Foxy Flames Red Hats Society. She also was a longtime crew member of the former Allegheny-Clarion Valley Ambulance Service. She was involved in a variety of community service projects, and she enjoyed picking and delivering daffodils to people she and her husband befriended over the years.

Surviving are a son, Gregory T. Edinger of Parker; a grandson, Michael T. Edinger and his wife, Lisa, of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Hope Edinger, and a great-grandson, Tyler Lynn, both at home; a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Rhoades of Sligo; and a number of nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her husband, Harry J. Edinger, whom she married in Foxburg June 6, 1958, died Aug. 30, 2003. She also was preceded in death by a sister who on June 10, 1928, lost her life saving a girl from drowning, for which her family received a Carnegie Medal Award; and a brother who died at birth.

<B>EDINGER</B> — Services for Kathryn "Kate" Martin Edinger, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Petersburg United Methodist Church beginning with an Order of Eastern Star service. A Christian memorial service will follow with her nephew, the Rev. William C. McGuirk, pastor of St. Florian Roman Catholic Church, and the Rev.
