When the Butler Area School District community welcomed its baseball team back following its first WPIAL baseball championship win on Wednesday, May 27, it celebrated a true team effort to finish the season triumphantly.

Following pitcher Nolan Stefaniak’s gutsy outing to hold the game at 2-2, and a clutch pair of runs to take a fifth-inning lead, the Golden Tornado held on to take down the Tigers of North Allegheny 4-2.

The Golden Tornado pulled off the victory in front of a huge student section that traveled to EQT Park, over 50 miles away. At Butler’s campus hours after the game, the celebration continued.
