Charles ‘Charlie’ Bell

Charles “Charlie” Gary Bell, 70, a lifelong resident of Harrisville, passed Wednesday morning, May 20, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Charles was born in Grove City on April 9, 1956, to Norman D. and Mildred E. (McGowan) Bell. He was number 12 of 12 total siblings.

Charlie worked for many years at Kwik Fill in Barkeyville as an attendant and as a diesel service technician. He earned his CDL and drove truck for various employers. He most recently worked at George Junior Republic as an overnight watchman.

Charlie attended Slippery Rock Area High School, Class of 1974. He was a very avid Steelers and Pirates fan and watched religiously. Charlie enjoyed vintage cars and trucks, attending car shows whenever he could. He was also an avid hunter over the years.

Charlie is survived by six siblings, Peggy Heldorfer, Jack Bell, James Bell, Eileen Bell, Raymond Bell and Edwin Bell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Charlie were his parents; and five siblings, William Bell, in April 2012, Sandy Bell, in March 2023, Lorretta Bell, in February 2023, Daniel Bell, in January 1972, and Barbara Ann Hershelman, in January 2026.

BELL — Visitation for Charles “Charlie” Gary Bell, who died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, will be from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday May 22, at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
