Nathaniel Jeffreys Jr.
Nathaniel “Nat” O. Jeffreys Jr., 82, of Butler, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026.
He was born in Meyersdale, Pa., on July 17, 1943, son of the late Nathaniel Sr. and Elizabeth (Ries) Jeffreys.
Nat attended college and then honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he received a National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle Badge. He started his career as an assistant manager at Kroger’s and was a former pharmaceutical salesman in Chicago. Later, he was employed in construction for many years, where he built stadium seating for Daytona 500 and numerous other places.
In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR racing, boating and camping, or doing any type of work with his hands. Nat was a hard worker and was extremely proud of the home that he built. After moving back to Pennsylvania, he made it a priority to get daily coffee with his closest friends.
He was the uncle of Warren (Kim) Champ, Beth (Mike) Graham and Tammy (Dwight) Boice; great-uncle of David (Elizabeth) and Jeff Champ and Brianne Yusko. Nat is also survived by his partner, Ann Hays, and extended family, Eric Hays, Melissa McClymonds and Kim Hays; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Along with his parents, Nat was preceded in death by his sibling, Valjean J. Champ.
JEFFREYS — Family and friends of Nathaniel “Nat” O. Jeffreys Jr., who died Monday, May 11, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. David Champ.
