Despite two hits apiece from David Leon, Jon Capasso and Radley Haddad, the Slippery Rock Sliders came up short in a 4-3 loss to the division-leading West Virginia Miners in Prospect League play Wednesday.

Leon also added a pair of stolen bases for the Sliders (4-8).

Clayton Prestridge led the Miners (11-2) with two singles and an RBI and John Spirk added a single and RBI.

Ryan Atwood picked up the win in relief while Heath Horvath was charged with the loss.
