Wright

George R. "Dick" Wright, 86, of Evans City died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 8, 1923, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late George H. Wright and Ethel G. Sloan Wright.

Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He attended Westminster College, the Drexel School of Engineering, and he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering.

Mr. Wright was a professional civil engineer, and he was passionate about his work. He was the owner of Wright Engineering Services LLC in Evans City.

He was a generous and benevolent person. He served as president of the board of directors of the St. John Special Care in Mars, the board of directors at The Pittsburgh Project and the board of directors at Mars Housing.

Mr. Wright was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Butler.

Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Broderick Wright, who he married Jan. 9, 1954; two sons, Richard Michael Wright of Indiana, Pa., and David Martin Wright at home; and a daughter, Tricia and her husband, Jack Voelzke, of Evans City. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Katie Wright and Melissa Wright.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
