SRU women's soccer shuts out Millersville
Shelby Ward and Lucy Hannon each scored goals as the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team blanked Millersville University 2-0 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium Saturday.
Dana O'Neill stopped five shots in goal for The Rock (8-4-1).
Washington & Jefferson 2, Grove City College 1 — Freeport graduate Sam Weber scored her team-leading eighth goal at the 31:40 mark to tie the game at 1-1, but the Wolverines (10-2-1) lost their second Presidents' Athletic Conference match of the season.
W&J's Chrissy Marcius ended the match with a goal 4:10 into overtime.
Andrew Dukes sneaked a game-winning goal off the post with 1:11 remaining in the opening overtime to lead Millersville to a 2-1 win over The Rock.Blake McChesney put SRU (6-3-5) up 1-0 at the half with a goal, but Dukes' first score of the game knotted it at 1-1.The Rock is now 0-1-5 in its six overtime matches this season.
Caroline Houston had six kills, but The Rock (13-10, 6-5) fell to California (Pa.) University 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.
