Butler Police10:55 p.m. Tuesday — Benjamin B. Loose, 36, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Ashley Berkheimer, during a domestic dispute at their home on Garfield Avenue. When police got to the home, they found Loose but the alleged victim was gone.Loose admitted he punched Berkheimer in the face “a few times,” according to court documents.A short time later, Berkheimer showed up at the house. Officers noted she had bruises on the left side of her face and the right side of her neck and right arm.Loose was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
Butler Twp Police11 a.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Colleen Peters, 64, and Steven Clawson, 56, both of Kittanning, collided on Route 8 north near Filbert Road. Peters was cited for making an illegal left turn into Clawson’s path.1:54 a.m. Tuesday — A 17-year-old Butler boy was found with suspected marijuana after a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. The boy, who police did not identify, was a passenger in the vehicle. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.10:32 p.m. Monday — Jeanette R. Kudamik, 35, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana after the car she was riding in was stopped for speeding on the Route 422 exit ramp.Kudamik is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.8:08 p.m. Monday — Tina L. Rivera, 47, of Butler allegedly shoplifted $130 worth of merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.4:36 p.m. Nov. 23 — Thomas A. Purcell, 23, of Butler was caught allegedly trying to make a false return of five shoplifted items worth about $136 from the Petco store at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. He is charged with attempted theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
Grove City PoliceTuesday — A thief stole about $5 that was in a car parked at the owner’s home on the 300 block of Bessemer Avenue. The theft happened within the past few days.6:30 p.m. Thursday — Jacob C. Seth, 32, of Brookville, Jefferson County, allegedly attacked his girlfriend’s father with a large hunting-style knife during a domestic dispute at her home on the 200 block of West Pine Street. Seth had fled the house with the knife by the time police got there.He is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.Thursday — Prescription hydrocodone and ibuprofen were stolen from a home on the 700 block of Spring Street. The medication was taken between Nov. 12 and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Nov. 25 — A thief stole about $2 worth of change from a truck parked on the 100 block of Sunset Avenue. The theft happened between 9 p.m. Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. Nov. 25. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Nov. 23 — Jeremiah J. Kloos, 18, of Grove City allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old boy at a playground near Gilmore and Edgewood avenues. Kloos is charged with simple assault and harassment.
Butler County DetectivesTuesday — Detectives charged Aaron J. Banks, 30, of Concord Township with submitting a phony document last month to his adult probation.Banks on Nov. 18 presented a time sheet and evaluation form that purportedly showed he had completed his court-ordered 29 hours of community service. The sheet was supposedly signed by the pastor at Concord Presbyterian Church.But when the probation officer contacted the pastor, the officer learned that the defendant never completed his community service. The pastor also told the officer that he did not sign the form.Banks is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.
State Police, Butler6:33 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Lori L. Haley, 41, of Templeton slid into a tree along Marwood Road in Winfield Township.9:50 p.m. Tuesday — Charles B. Blatt, 31, was arrested after a domestic dispute at his home on the 1200 block of Sunset Drive in Center Township. He was arrraiged on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment.Blatt was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.6:45 p.m. Tuesday — Haley M. Degreen, 21, was arrested after punching and breaking the nose of an 18-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at her home on Bullcreek Road in Jefferson Township.Delgreen was arrraiged on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Tuesday — A 50-year-old man reported a handgun missing from his home on Water Lane in Washington Township. The black, Smith & Wesson .40-caliber pistol was lost or taken between Oct. 10 and Monday.
