Malloy appointed as county’s human resources director
Maria Malloy was appointed as the new director of human resources for Butler County.
Malloy has been with the county in some capacity since 1995, holding positions in the county court and serving as an administrative assistant to Commissioners Dale Pinkerton, Leslie Osche, and Kim Geyer.
In 2022, Malloy was named deputy clerk, then chief clerk in 2025 following the retirement of Lori Altman, who also served as the previous director of human resources.
Other new county appointments announced Wednesday, April 29, by the county’s board of commissioners, include Shawn Pugh, who will add chief clerk to his current duties as director of procurement. Pugh has been with the county since 1999, barring a brief absence between 2020 and 2022 when he served as Slippery Rock borough manager. With Butler County, he has served as juvenile probation officer, grant writer and criminal justice planner.
Both appointments take effect Monday, May 4. The board of commissioners will officially ratify them at its meeting on May 13.
