Pesticide updates, exams scheduled
Penn State Cooperative Extension will offer pesticide update meetings and exam sessions in Beaver and Butler counties in October.
Both update meetings will qualify for two Core, two Category 01, and two Category 18 credits for pesticide license update as approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
A $5 registration fee due at the door. Checks can be made payable to PSCE of Beaver County. Participants are asked to register by calling the Butler County Extension Office at 724-287-4761 or the Beaver County Extension Office at 724-774-3003. The same information will be presented at both sites.
The Beaver session will be held Oct. 15 in the General Classroom Building of the Penn State Beaver Campus in Monaca. The exam session will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 108 and the update session will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Room 115B.
The Butler session will be held Oct. 22 at the East Butler Fire Hall, 808 Grant Ave., East Butler. The exam session will begin at 7 p.m. and the update session will begin at 7:30 p.m. For directions, call 724-287-9934 or 724-287-4761.
Those who wish to take an applicator exam must register by calling the Region IV PDA office at 724-443-1585 at least three days before the exam date.
Commercial exams
Payments for Commercial Core exams ($50) and Commercial Category exams ($10 each) are due at the time of exam by check or money order only, payable to "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
No cash will be accepted for exam fees. Those who take and pass the Private Applicator Exam will be notified and billed directly by PDA. For questions regarding pesticide licensing in Pennsylvania, contact the Region IV PDA office at 724-443-1585.
