Kristen Shaffer
In memory of Kristen Shaffer
June 10, 1975 - April 18, 1997
A million times I needed you,
A million times I've cried,
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death, I love you still,
In my heart you hold a place,
And you always will.
When I am sad and lonely
And everything goes wrong,
I seem to hear you whisper,
"DAD, cheer up and carry on."
To some you may be forgotten,
To others a part of the past,
To me who loved and lost you,
Your memory will always last.
May you always walk of sunshine.
God's love around you glow,
The happiness you gave me
No one will ever know.
I can't bring the old days back.
Your hand I cannot touch,
But in my heart your memory
Lingers forever and ever
On the one I loved so much.
They say time heals all sorrow,
And helps me to forget.
But time so far has only proven
How much I miss you yet.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
You took my heart and soul with you,
The biggest part of me went with you,
The day God took you home with Him.
