In loving memory of my son Derek who was tragically taken from me seven years ago today, August 16th.

Who ever thought it would happen like this?

Nothing to say, not sure what to do . . .

All I have left are memories of you.

A smile that could shine through a thousand tears

A son who was wise well beyond his years.

A shoulder to cry on when you needed a friend

Such a big heart with great advise to lend.

I lost an angel on that dreadful day

Who was given his wings to take him away.

Now Derek is watching his loved ones from Heaven above

And guiding us all with his endless love.
