RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

B’NAI ABRAHAM

A congregational potluck dairy dinner will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Congregation B’nai Abraham, 519 N. Main St. A festival Sh’mini Atzeret/Simchas Torah service will be at 7:30 p.m. for the dedication of the new Torah scroll.

World-renowned clarinetist Suzanne Ortner and pianist Tom Roberts will play during the service. An Oneg will follow. To make reservations for the service, call 724-287-5806.

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Gwen Atkinson will present the special music for the Sunday worship service at Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road.

The youths will have a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church to benefit those going to New York. Donations will be accepted.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The food cupboard work team of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 8:45 a.m. Monday at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at First English Lutheran Church.

The outreach team will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Those participating in the Laurel Highlands trip will meet at 7 a.m. Friday at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Study of Psalms will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The mission prayer focus for the week is Life Choices Crisis Pregnancy Center.

The food pantry needs donations of laundry and paper supplies.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The women’s craft event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the YMCA’s board of trustees room, 339 N. Washington St. Contact Amanda Ogle or Amanda Doyle for more information.

Wednesday night Bible study will meet from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at the YWCA.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The church office at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will be closed today and Friday.

The film “In-laws and Outlaws” will be shown and discussed at 3 p.m. Sunday in the assembly room.

The session will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Shaffer Memorial Room.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The pastor will return to the pulpit at the Sunday service at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext. A potluck lunch will follow. Take a main entree, side dish or dessert to share.

FENELTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Fenelton United Methodist Church, 810 Clearfield Road, Fenelton, will host a reception for Tiffany Stewart at 7 p.m. Sunday. She will share her experiences and show photos of her recent mission trip to Harare, Zimbabwe.

FIRST BAPTIST

Ladies’ Bible study of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be at 7 p.m. today at the Dittmer home.

There will be a luncheon following the Sunday morning service. Doug and Amber Staley, missionary appointees to Ireland, will speak at the 1:15 p.m. worship service.

First Baptist’s adult crafters meeting will be at noon Tuesday at Mac’s Route 8 Cafe, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

“Where Moms Connect” will be at Susan Cumberland’s home at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 23.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Joyful Noise, a choir for children in kindergarten through grade 3, will begin rehearsing this week to sing for both Nov. 16 services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia. Practices will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, Oct. 23, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 in Heritage Hall.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

The volunteers of Grace’s Closet will have a workday from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. The clothing bank will not be open Saturday.

GraceWay meets each Sunday morning at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

The seekers of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will have a potluck lunch following the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The new crochet and knitting club will meet at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in the deacon’s room. Participants should take a “J” hook and cotton yarn.

A scavenger hunt for Club 56 and JumpStart 78 will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

St. John’s Lutheran Church on Main Street in Connoquenessing will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday service.

The cause of the month is the Evans City Community Food Cupboard.

The Butler Area Lutheran Ministries will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect.

ST. JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The confirmation class will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The Christian education committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday followed by the outreach committee at 7:30 p.m.

The St. John’s Quilters late October meeting has been moved to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN

Women of all ages of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will gather at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Crytzer home to watch “Moms’ Night Out.” Take a snack to share.

Stewardship Sunday will be observed with Communion and special dedications of time, talents and treasures. The stewardship brunch will begin at 9:15 a.m. in Centennial Hall.
