RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Gordon Thompson will present the music for the Sunday worship service at the Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road.

The Zone Missionary Rally will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the district center.

Trunks and Treats will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church parking lot.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The Community Fall Festival of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will offer activities for all ages from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

A potluck dinner will follow the traditional Sunday service. Take a dish to share.

The witness team will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

New Normal Youth will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Filter of Faith will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The mission prayer focus this week is for Mission Aviation Fellowship.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The kids annual harvest party will be at the same time as the regular service on Sunday. Costumes are encouraged.

This month’s laundromat outing will be after tear down Sunday.

There will be a pizza and pumpkin carving party for youths in grades six to 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 30 at Pastor Ben’s house. For directions, contact Pastor Ben.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Paul D. Wierman will be the guest speaker for the Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will launch its Season of Stewardship on Sunday with the theme “The Church as God’s Builders.”

The community food cupboard would like donations of graham crackers and saltines.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will participate in a work day to close the season from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. All ages will be welcome. Lunch will be provided.

There will be a 6 p.m. Sunday service in addition to the Sunday morning activities.

The youth group will have a fall party from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cumberlands’ home. There will be a costume contest and games. Take chips, soda or dessert and money for pizza.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will have its third day of prayer with individuals praying from 6 a.m. to midnight Sunday at the church or at home.

SERV Market Place will sell crafts, clothing, jewelry and food from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall. Cash and checks will be accepted for payment.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

First Holy Communion will be during the Sunday service.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Andre Parker and Jason Runnels will provide music for the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will host a dessert and movie social at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Ghana Mission Task Force will meet at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Joy Bells and Jubilation Ringers will rehearse at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

MERIDIAN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The sewing group at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. Take a lunch. The group welcomes others to help cut, assemble and sew lap robes for a local mission project.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The KIDZONE Harvest Festival at New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 2 behind the Mission Outpost. The event will include pumpkin painting, a hay maze, custom candy apples, campfire cooking and more.

OAK HILLS

Oak Hills Christian Church, 113 Township Line Road, will have its fall festival from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at its fellowship hall. The event will include games, crafts, treats and fellowship. The time for Sunday morning worship has changed. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. and include a blend of contemporary and traditional music. Coffee fellowship will follow the service.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, is collecting children’s books for a Philadelphia elementary school. The goal is to bring books to children without them, especially those in kindergarten through second grade.

Student pastor Joaquin Lopez will be the speaker for the Sunday service.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Rich Patrick Celtic Music will provide entertainment Sunday for the Scottish Sunday luncheon at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St.

Contact Mrs. Haughey to help provide and serve dinner to the K.I.C.K. kids on Wednesdays.

Teams of children will explore Butler during God’s Amazing Race on Nov. 2. To help with the event, contact Mrs. Haughey.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will host an Oktoberfest original German buffet and roast beef dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Centennial Hall. A yodeling contest and gift baskets will be included in this benefit for Glade Run Special Needs children.

Sunday’s activities will include Reformation Sunday when worshippers will wear red, Funday Sunday, breakfast and the Word for senior high students and a temple talk by Sheila Talarico of Glade Run Lutheran Services.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Central Blood Bank will hold a blood drive at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

The youth group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will have a 24-hour prayer vigil for the capital campaign beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday and concluding at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Students in grades nine to 12, and their parents, will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday to discuss participation in the National Youth Gathering.
