Trojanettes net 2 tourney wins
North Catholic scored a pair of wins over the weekend at the SheGotGame Classic in Washington, D.C.
The Trojanettes defeated Glenn 56-26 as Tess Myers scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win. Butler resident Kylee Lewandowski held Division I recruit Jaycee Busick to two points.
Busick has already received 15 Division I offers.
North Catholic edged Cardinal O'Hara, 61-58, as four players reached double figures. Belle O'Hara and Dani Short led the Trojanettes with 14 points dach.
Myers had 12 points and eight rebounds, Emma Pospisil 11 points, Lewandowski 10 rebounds.
General McLane 57, Slippery Rock 54 — Mary Ackerman paced the Rockets with 27 points and seven rebounds. Halli Raabe added 16 points.
The Rockets led 30-21 at halftime, but could not hold on.

Mars resident and North Catholic wrestler Matt Ferraro placed seventh in his weight class at the Panther Holiday Classic.
Ferraro won two matches by decision, one by pinfall.

Butler hosted its 14th annual George “Doc” Phillips Junior Varsity Tournament. Golden Tornado wrestlers Dominic Vivirito at 126 pounds, Cooper Baxter at 170 and Shawndell Zapata at 220 — all freshmen — won their respective weight classes. Sophomore Nick Schaukowitsch placed third at 106. Vivirito pinned all three of his foes.
There were 175 wrestlers from 18 schools competing.
