A man in a rental car accidentally drove it into Applebee’s on Monday evening, April 20, in the Butler Crossing shopping center, according to Butler Township police.

Jeffrey Picerno told police he was unfamiliar with the style of the rental car and thought he was in reverse when he drove the car into the front of the building. Police did not provide the man’s age.

The crash occurred around 7:15 p.m., and there was minimal damage to the building and vehicle. Fire and EMS were not needed, police said.
