Seneca Valley teacher named Pennsylvania STEM pioneer
A Seneca Valley School gifted support teacher has been selected as a Pennsylvania STEM Pioneer through a competitive, multistate initiative led by Penn State University.
Jeremiah Friday, a Haine Elementary School teacher, is among the group of educators chosen to participate in the STEM Pioneers Teacher Corps, a four-year professional learning program focused on enhancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics education for K-5 students.
“Through his participation, Seneca Valley students will benefit from enhanced STEM instruction designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and foster innovation, preparing them for success in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world,” a Seneca Valley news release said.
Friday will collaborate with educators from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia to strengthen instructional practices and improve student achievement in STEM disciplines.
“I am excited to work alongside such a dedicated group of STEM professionals,” Friday said in a news release. “Through collaboration with teachers from across the region, I will gain exposure to innovative ideas and programs that will expand my current knowledge and practice.”
