Butler claims indoor title
EDINBORO — Led by victories in two relay events, the Butler girls track and field team won the Tri-State Track Coaches Association’s Indoor Championships for the fourth consecutive year Saturday at Edinboro Un iversity.
Chesna Tomko, Gabby Boden, Taylor Timmons and Liz Simms won the 4x400 meter and 4x200 meter relay events for the Golden Tornado.
Butler’s boys placed second at the TSTCA Indoor Championships, finishing one point behind champion Indiana. Jack Codispot won the pole vault.
There were 81 teams competing at the meet.
Butler will wrap up its indoor season Sunday at the state championships, hosted by Penn State University.

In other action:
Slippery Rock’s boys 4x400 meter relay team set a school record at the Youngstown State indoor meet. Kristian Sosa, Pat Shea, Chad Green and Nick Gills placed fifth with a time of 3:49.92.
Ethan Folmer placed fourth in the boys triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 11/25 inches. Sierra Nagy placed third in the girls 60-meter hurdles in 10.07 seconds.
In the girls triple jump,. Ana Ng placed fifth and Ashlee Wherthy seventh.
Swimming
Slippery Rock has qualified six individuals for the District 10 meet.
Boys advancing are senior Heston Suorsa and junior Riley Lewis. Girls moving on are juniors Kaitlin Novak and Reagan Suorsa, sophomore Alyssa Olshanski and freshman Natalie Carlantonio.
