DCNR establishes special geocaching trail across Pennsylvania state parks for America’s 250th
Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has established places for geocaching hobbyists to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. The “GeoTrail” consists of 25 caches, each of which is located at a Pennsylvania state park. Included in the trail are Moraine State Park and Jennings Environmental Education Center.
The Moraine State Park cache is themed to the park’s “Liberty Tree,” which was planted in October 2024 near the South Shore park office to kick off the America250 celebrations.
The Jennings cache explores a lone wolf white oak tree.
More specific location details for both caches are available by registering at geocaching.com.
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity in which participants search for items at specific GPS coordinates.
Those who find all 25 caches are eligible to receive a special commemorative coin from DCNR.
